Service development process

The process of service development typically involves bringing people together, including service users and providers, to:

  • Identify the issue or area for growth in service delivery within the broader service system based on available data, client need and organisational strategic directions;
  • Develop service development plan and organise the people and resources required for implementation;
  • Identify workforce development and support needs to be able to deliver strengthened/new service;
  • Develop and implement communication plan for communicating with all relevant stakeholders; and
  • Evaluation and ongoing monitoring of the efficacy of the service development.
