The Role:

The Department of Adolescent Medicine at the Royal Children’s Hospital is a speciality department within the Division of Medicine comprising  of Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Social Workers and Psychologists working together to provide  inpatient and outpatient care to adolescents aged between 12 – 18 years. The Department is comprised of sub-speciality teams including the Eating Disorders Service, Gender Service, Young People’s Health Service, Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) Service and Transition Support Services.

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our specialist and research driven eating disorder service and innovative multidisciplinary team on a fixed term basis. The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing clinical care to adolescents with restrictive eating disorders – anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder - in the North Western Metropolitan region.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant discipline
  • Experience in providing family based treatment and other evidence based therapies
  • Eligibility for membership in Victoria of an appropriate professional body
  • Current Registration with AHPRA (where professionally relevant).  
  • Experience in contributing to a cohesive and high performance team

We are open to fulling this role at 0.8EFT or two 0.4EFT and encourage applicants looking for either time fraction, across either Grade 2 or 3 classifications, to apply. Applicants are requested to specify their desired EFT in the cover letter and must address the key selection criteria in the relevant grade position description.
