Would you like to further improve on supporting family and carers of eating disorder clients within your service?

The Victorian Centre of Excellence in Eating Disorders (CEED) and Deakin University have partnered to offer facilitator training to a limited number of mental health clinicians on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 September 2017 and subsequent implementation support to services across Victoria in order to deliver an evidence based eating disorders carer intervention program, known as Collaborative Care Skills Workshop (CCSW).

CCSW is an evidence-based intervention that aims to improve carers’ wellbeing, coping strategies and problem solving skills by modifying communication patterns and teaching carers the basic principles of motivational interviewing. It was developed by Janet Treasure and her team at South London and Maudsley Mental Health Trust and was brought to Australia by A/P Genevieve Pepin and A/P Ross King in 2008, and Genevieve will be leading the facilitator workshops in conjunction with CEED senior clinician Rachel King.

For further information on the CCSW facilitator training and how to apply for clinician/s within your service to be skilled up to run these workshops, please see the attached information and expression of interest form.
