With an eating disorder there is often distress and sometimes extreme distress. This resource is based on strategies designed to manage heightened Physiological Arousal (Fight or Flight response/Internal alarm system).

Developed by Sarah Brown (CEED Carer Consultant), Lisa Romanin (Carer Peer Support, NorthWestern Mental Health) in collaboration with Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA), Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV) and CEED clinicians.

Maudsley Parents is a not-for-profit volunteer organisation dedicated to supporting parents to help their children recover from Eating Disorders through the use of Maudsley family-based treatment. The website contains information, resources, family stories, and advice.

The Butterfly Foundation is the peak national body supporting the interests of individuals with Eating Disorders and/or body image concerns, & their families, friends, & carers. Services include telephone and online support, prevention and education programs, recovery, support & treatment services, & research.

Family Matters Tipsheets developed by CEED Carer Consultant for clinicians to provide to families in treatment at CAMHS/CYMHS. This tipsheet is the first in the series, providing families with a newly diagnosed young person with a snapshot of advice on how to get started with FBT.

The Eating Disorders Care and Recovery Checklist has been developed in consultation with the members of CEED’s Carers Advisory Group, being basd on the Eating Disorders Care & Recovery Framework to ensure all components of treatment and recovery are accessed, throughout the longitudinal process of recovery.
